Mumbai central MMCT Railway Station

Built in 1930, Mumbai Central Railway Station is one of the oldest stations in India. It was earlier known as the Bombay Central Station and later renamed to Mumbai Central in 1997. The station is located on the Western Line of Mumbai’s suburban railway network. 

It serves as a major stop for both local and long-distance trains. Operating as one of Mumbai’s 5 main railway terminals, the Mumbai Central Railway Station handles high passenger and traffic volume. It also connects Mumbai to several destinations across north and western India.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport is the closest airport, and it's located around 18 kilometres from Mumbai Central Railway Station. The Mumbai Central Bus Depot (MSRTC Bus Stand) is located about 1 kilometer away from the railway station and can be reached within a few minutes on foot.

There is paid parking available on the station premises for both cars and bikes. If the parking is full, you can also find BMC parking lots near the MMCT Railway Station.

• By Road

You can take a taxi or auto-rickshaw to reach the MMCT station from different parts of the city. 

• By Bus

You can take a BEST city bus to reach the station. Various bus routes pass through the station, including 63, 66, and 82. You can get off at the Reserve Bank bus stop and walk to the station. 

• By Metro

You can also reach the Mumbai Central Railway Station by taking the Aqua Line 3 metro to the Jagannath Shankar Sheth metro station. The station is about a 13-minute walk away.  

• By Local Train

One of the easiest ways to reach the MMCT station is by a local train. If you are travelling on the Western Line, you can take any slow or fast local train and get off directly at Mumbai Central station.

If you are travelling on the Central Line or Harbour Line, get down at Dadar and switch to the Western Line. From there, take a Churchgate-bound local train to reach Mumbai Central.

• By Airport

If you are travelling by flight, you can take a local taxi or an app-based cab from the CSMI airport to reach the MMCT station.
