Chandigarh Rose Garden
Also known as the Zakir Hussain Rose Garden, this garden was built in 1967 and spans over 30 acres, hosting a blooming exhibit of over 800 varieties of flowers. This calm and serene place is a major tourist attraction for naturalists and also hosts the annual Rose Festival from February to March.
Rock Garden
Built by former Road Inspector Nek Chand in 1957, the Chandigarh Rock Garden features an open-air exhibition of sculptures made with recycled materials and industrial waste. Located about 6.6 kilometers from the CDG Station, the garden spans over 40 acres and showcases several colorful mosaic structures made with broken bangles, tiles, and pottery pieces.
Sukhna Lake
Located at the foothills of the Himalayas, this scenic man-made lake was created in 1958 due to the damming of the seasonal stream Sukhna Choe. The pristine blue waters of the lake serve as a great photography subject for tourists who can also spend time rowing or bird watching while at the lake.
Le Corbusier Centre
About 52 minutes from the CDG Station, the center is dedicated to the lifework of Le Corbusier, the Swiss-French architect known for designing the city of Chandigarh. Chandigarh Bird Park
Spanning 6.5 acres, the Chandigarh Bird Park is a treat for bird watchers and nature lovers. The aviary is designed to help visitors learn and watch birds in their natural habitats through guided tours. Some of the park's main attractions include African Love Birds, Macaws, and Black Swans.
